A compact adobe residence reorganized around a south-facing loggia and a long, unbroken view to the Jemez.

The house is arranged as a single sheltered bar behind a low adobe wall, its rooms opening in sequence onto a covered portal that runs the length of the south elevation.

Material selections stay close to the site — hand-troweled plaster, oiled oak, blackened steel — allowing the desert light and the shifting shadow of the portal to do most of the work.

The plan gathers the living, dining, and kitchen into one continuous volume, then steps down a half-level to a walled sleeping wing that opens privately onto a citrus courtyard.

A shallow reflecting channel traces the base of the portal, cooling the prevailing breeze and returning a second, quieter reading of the Jemez to the rooms behind it.
