An infill house on a narrow lot, organized vertically around a courtyard so every room receives southern light.

The site was a twenty-five-foot-wide lot in an established neighborhood; the house lifts its principal rooms to the second floor and carves a full-height courtyard through the plan.

The courtyard admits southern light to the interior stair and to the central living room, and provides a private outdoor room screened from adjacent houses.

The street facade is a single quiet plane of stucco, punctuated by a bronze-framed entry and a slot of glass at the stair.

The primary bedroom occupies the top floor and opens onto a small roof garden — a private counterpoint to the more public rooms below.
