A renovation and rear addition that reorients a traditional house toward a new garden and pool pavilion.

The original house was a well-built but internally dark 1930s brick residence; the intervention preserved its street presence entirely and reworked the rear third of the plan.

A new steel-and-glass pavilion holds the family room and kitchen, opening across a stone terrace to a lap pool and a small guest pavilion beyond.

New and old are held apart by a slender skylit slot — a moment of pause in the plan — so that the character of each is legible without one imitating the other.
